Here are some photos showing further progress with the construction of the headgear and pithead buildings.



The Open Truss Girders were, for the non loadbearing sections, made from card with the corners reinforced with plastic angle. The load bearing girders were made from plastic open truss girders. ( Plastruct).

The South pit headgear was the first to be completed, this was unusual in that the some of the girders were encased in concrete.
