When I try to upload some pictures, I keep getting the message that they are to big. I've cropped them as small as I can and still no luck. I've also sent them to photobucket, but can't figure out how to get them here. Help, please.

Roy

If it says they are too big, it usually means there are too many pixels, the images have to be < 1024x768px. Cameras usually take images many times bigger than this. What you will need to do is to upload it here is to open it in a graphics program, such as paint, and scale the images down so that they are small enough (Ctrl+W in paint, set the first two boxes to either both 75 or both 50).

If you are using Photobucket, when viewing your pics on photobucket, there is a small box about half way down the right or left hand side with 3 links in it. One of them is in the for Just paste that link in a post on this forum, and the wonders of the internet will place the pic here for you.

Thanks, Tom. I was able to upload through photobucket. It was the easiest. Still have to resize though to get them into my images. Save that for another day.

How many posts does a member have to have before their pictures have to be run past the moderator first? Is it a fixed number; the same for everybody?

I've increased the maximum sizes for "Image Hosting" to the following :

Image dimensions : width, 2048 pixels - height, 2048 pixels
Image Size : 4096kb (4mb)

Hopefully that will help out somewhat

Thanks for doing this...

But I'm wondering - what's better for the server's performance: Hosting the pictures here, or hosting elsewhere and linking?
