Looking good... I would say, you can surely look for DCC... my suggestion will be Digitrax...

Well after seeing some of the work done by you guys I have been inspired to start again.
It does not look much but its a complete loop and will run my trains.

Well I finally got she who has to be obeyed to let me bring my layout down from Sydney to Melbourne.
When finally put on the movers truck(to bring all our "extra" stuff) it fitted with about an inch to spare so the boss didnt miss out on any of her "good stuff" coming down.

I am waiting with baited breath to see how it traveled - I think I reinforced it well enough

Oh by the way I am being allowed to keep it in the dining room till we buy our new house

I will post pictures of it disembarkment and placing in its due pride of place

Ever onwards

Well after 18 months and a move from Sydney to Melbourne, all the contollers disconnected the time came to reconnect and power up. With a bit of cleaning the front mainline is working

Inner main line now operational
A total of 5 broken solder joints to fix on both lines, not bad considering what the layout has been through and possibly my bad soldering to start with.

My Sante Fe F7 A&B War Bonnet got its first ever run and I found it to be a bit noisy, which brings my next question

Is there a thread with helps with maintenance of locos?

I await your advise

Loco maintenance could go in Tech Topics.
Or just in the appropriage scale thread.
Have the locos been run in? Sometimes a half hour running in each direction does wonders.

Well its been a while, being very frosty in Melbourne it has given me some time to work on my new layout and work out how to upload pictures and not just attachments.

I have developed my design to include a climb of 80mm on the inner loops with 2.5% grade.

view down the back run
