Default rocks

I have been trying to produce rocks buy molding plaster. I was just using tin foil and it came out OK but I just don't think its good enough. any suggestions for how I can make rocks. anything would help.

Hi Joe,I have done my rocks that way for years I do a lot of carving and colouring to get them to look the way I want them .

Joe I haven't built many rocks, but I'm a fan of the expanding foam gapfiller [aerosol] which is extemely easy to carve. I then add DAS modelling clay over the cut surfaces and paint it in thin washes.

Hi Mike, I see your new to the site, welcome, but not new to modeling.
Been looking at your pictures. Great job on your layout. Thanks for sharing Any info for us newbee's to the hobby will be helpfull.
