Default Classic Cars, Model Railway and the Mid Suffolk Light Railway

Hi all,

Sunday 22/08/10 was the Mid Suffolk Light Railway Classic Cars & Model Railways Sunday:

Classic Cars - The nearest one is a Mercedes Benz 190SL (1955-63). My cousin & her husband in West Midlands has just completed restoring their one, but never seen one in black, theirs is in red. Coincidentally both 190SL's came from the same garage in Falmouth.

Walmington Pier Tramway now only goes out twice a year and this is its last showing for 2010.

FD&E Co No.3 or to give its full title 'Falmouth Docks and Engineering Compny No. 3', an 0-4-0ST built by Hawthorn Leslie in 1926 works hard at the 'Middy'.

I'm taking early retirement soon and already joined the railway and have been given my first task - audit their safety Risk Assessments.

Enjoy!

Dave

It's funny how those cars show up at any old event. The local Jaguar club is always at the Scottish Festival we have each year.

One time my model railroad club was invited to a model radio controlled airplane show. Since it was held indoors so we were the only thing actually running except for a RC helicopter that terrorized the crowd now and then. So most of the people hung out at our display. We weren't invited back.

Thanks for the pics David. Would you be able to drive a train further into your time at the railway?
