Default Southport Pier

Hi Team,

I was 'Oop Nawth' on business last week and arrived early enough to spend a couple of hours to visit Southport Pier for the first time and to ride the one pier railway left on my list!!!

At the shore end.

The 3ft 6ins gauge 2-car battery unit was built by UK Loco Ltd in 2005.

The doorless side of the tram at the pier head alongside two road train cars.

Pier head buffer stop and charging point, the tram's batteries are overnight charged every 3 days.

View along all 1216 yards (1112 metres) of Southport Pier.

And finally......

No visit to Southport is complete without a view of the 15" gauge Lakeside Miniature Railway:

No. 3 'Jenny' on a works train.

New Walmington Pier
It sticks out by half a mile.
