For the wheel cars (wagons) on this layout I had been using 4 wheel Commonwealth passenger trucks (bogies) made by Roundhouse. Now, partly because they no longer seem to be available, and mostly because I can no longer squint and pretend not to see how bad that looks - I'm thinking of going with these instead (by Ratio):
I will mount Kadee couplers on them and build the various superstructures as needed. I may modify the brake rigging to make them look more American. They don't have buffers so I don't need to remove that detail. They are just 0.2 inches longer so hopefully they will still work for me. |
