Default HOn30 Porter...done?

This is the project I have been sidetracking myself on.

It's a Railway Recollections HOn30 Porter conversion designed to fit on a LL Saddletanker chassis. This is just a dry fit, nothing screwed or glued to the chassis. It looks like I have some more filing in my future!

Edit: The bell is a spare from an MDC Shay. The Shay will also be donating a headlamp. (the conversion includes neither)

That Porter looks great Rich, I also saw that conversion a few month ago but found the price a bit high, I'll try to scratchbuild my own when I get the time.

Gotta ask, if you have the bell where the smokestack goes how does the smoke get out?

The bell is on the sand dome. The smokestack would go on the smoke box (which was missing in the kit...I should have it this week)

Or the alternate answer could be, The mechanical engineers decided on a dual flowmaster exhaust to reduce the drag coefficient of the standard smokestack, shaving about .587 seconds off the quarter mile. :P

I got the smokebox today. Nice casting. It would have been nicer had it come in the kit. (at least It came promptly)

Now All I need to complete it is some taps and a different rear coupler. The 1135 is too short. (waaaay too short)

I will post pics as I get them.

I kinda thought that would be the water tank filler.
