Default Out & About with WPT

Just had a great day out at the Norwich Model Railway Club's exhibition with 'Walmington Pier Tramway' (WPT).

It was a very busy day and I enjoyed myself - even to the point where I've decided to withdraw 'Fuel Pad' from exhibiting pending disposal (sale or scrap) as I am more comfortable with exhibiting this pier.

Here's a few pics of WPT in action:

From Pier Head to Shore

Shore End where WPT tram No. 1 meets Lowestoft tram No. 14!

WPT tram No.1 arrives at the pier head.

The entire length of Walmington Pier, behind it are two reference books used at exhibitions.

A fan of this layout very kindly gave me a casting of a leaping dolphin which will be added before the Luton exhibition in two weeks time.

Hi Dave, if you are happy with the WPT then that is the way to go.
I would have thought you wouldn't find it too hard to sell the Motive Depot.

What ever floats your boat.

Dave:
Which magazine did the Pier appear in? I've missed a few while on holidays.
Let us know if you plan any overseas travel with it -- I think we could get you into a show or two.

Hi 60103,

It appeared in Model Rail - Issue 126, January 2009.
Doubt if I would go abroad to exhibit it, bad enough trying to get away from exhibiting it in East Anglia, but thanks for the offer.

Cheers,
Dave

Just got back from another day out with Walmington Pier Tramway - this time at the Luton MRC exhibition - it was another busy day with over 800-900 through the doors!

Had quite a few photo calls today from enthusiasts, local media and the general public.

A couple of photos before opening:

And one of how WPT travels:

Sits on the belt clips on back seat of my car with armrest up and secured by the two outer seat belts.

Simple as that!!!!

Do I see the dolphin in the back near the deep end?
